Adapting to Drought Workshop

Farmers, did you experience water shortages or concerns about your ability to supply your livestock or crops with sufficient water during the 2016 drought?
Plan to attend this workshop to understand water cycle, water taking options, ground-water/well considerations in dry periods, alternative watering systems, alternative feeding strategies when your feed supply is running low, farm stewardship incentives, and considerations for retaining surface water on your property.
Booths will provide you with additional take home information from Lang Pioneer Village Raise The Barn, Peterborough County Stewardship, Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association, East Central Farm Stewardship Collaborative, ORCA, Sunderland Co-operative Inc., OMAFRA, ALUS Peterborough, Farms at Work, among others.

 

Cost: Free including coffee and tea throughout the day and a catered lunch.
